Maimonedes presents an excellent example of a way and spirit to reaching transcendence. He describes the end of the way as leading to a Great palace. Maimonedes method of transcendence is a sound one and has been used by many people. First suspend your religious beliefs, like Descartes you can even doubt them, long enough. to figure out what the world is about based solely on science and then exam the religious truths based on already empirically and rationally understanding the universe; Otherwise one might ignore a physical truth simply because you will disregard it based on an the excuse god did that or God works in mysterious ways. Inasmuch as God works in mysterious ways, science now understands many of these of these mysteries. Socrates also teaches that one must use the best contemporary science when trying to understand the universe. Buddha was well trained in the leading edge of the science and medicine of his era. Loizi (one of the first Taoists) had empyreal backing in his studies of these sciences. Christ was chastised by his parents for learning from the best doctors in temple, Zoroaster helped created the astrology that subsequently became astrology. Thus one must seek or examine things logically using up-to-date science and studies when trying to understand owns own religion and reach transcendence. Trying to explain phenomena according to science enriches both belief systems. Post moderns realized that science was as much a belief system, based on dictums and laws that are believed to be truerBohr's diagrams were superceded by quantum mechanics in atomic practical theory. Yet as mentioned earlier Darwin’s theory of evolution concerning all life coming from the waters and that humans existed before Adam and eve are substantiated by the bible.In the bagavantam it is wisdom and Nu (new) science that impresses and leads to transcendence. It is the unity of the two that causes a higher enriched understanding of both, causes transcendence amongst the good and impresses everyone concerning such matters. Rather than handing people the same old news about Adam and eve learned like the house rule in monopoly in which one places money under free parking and complain about the game taking to long. The rules do not say to put money under free parking as the bible spells out clearly there is people who lived on earth before Adam and eve. Though the rule book does not spell out such fallacies many people play with money under free parking as many people think Adam and eve were the first people. Suspending the idea that one knows the rules to monopoly or the bible can help one read it without their biases acting like blinkers to blind them to it and suspending ones belief allows them to learn things like evolution theory without disregarding it as fallacious. One later reunifies the religion and science without losing faith in either and enriches both and esp. ones own understanding of them.
