Brief history Triads, Mafia and other mobs
The triads were originally Chinese (or oriental families) that unified into three families for defense: this is why the word triad is used to describe them they are very religious people and were strongly tied to Taoism. Each had an animal God totem, or protector, or Taoist dive entity. The totem, or divine entity, was used to symbolise and identify the group. It is said the mafia organised itself into the modern version we know in the 19thCentury though some argue it existed in this form prior to this, while it is certain the families and the system of the mafia predate the 19th century. The triads were organised into the society of heaven and earthy (Tian Di Hui) in the 1750s to combat what they believed was tyrannical Manchu led by Qing Dynasty in an attempt to return rule to the Han dynasty. The triads that formed this new society predated the organisation to restore china to what they felt was a more fair leadership. Like the mafia, the new triad organisation forms a lot of ideas that currently prevail concerning the origin and structure of the organisations. Many of the families, associations and alliances go back to ancient times and also were associated with the Toast beliefs of their areas. They practiced a lot of the traditions of these beliefs and often saved certain rituals and beliefs as part of their family tradition. Like the families of the first God fathers that protected the peoples of their towns and villages, the triads and the families that comprise them protected the people in certain areas from unlawfulness and by the 1750s believed their people were better served by a different Chinese leadership. Mobs exist in every country and are usually formed from the peoples of each locale who often made town militias and groups to protect lawful behavior; this was done for the protection of the people and area. The feudal system is one early version of this type of system. Often each group learned from other and from those of other nations. As I have said being good and virtuous is the foremost importance no matter what group one is associated with.
I will continue this discourse tomorrow
