Iliad 1 Vowed cool virtue

To her Pelides:—"With regardful ear,
'Tis just, O goddess! I thy dictates hear.
[pg 010]
Hard as it is, my vengeance I suppress:
Those who revere the gods the gods will bless."
He said, observant of the blue-eyed maid;
Then in the sheath return'd the shining blade.
The goddess swift to high Olympus flies,
And joins the sacred senate of the skies.

Here a declaration that although driven to vengeance by the anger of the lost of beauty, a bow is made to stay cool headed and virtuous and the result is sent up high to the godhead in the sky, the council of gothetic elohim.
