Orphic man love

After the death of Eurydice, Orpheus swore off the love of women and took only young men as his lovers. He is reputed to be the one who introduced male love to the Thracians, teaching them to love the young in the flower of their youth. here is a famous part of orpheus; myth that is mentioned in plato's republic, proving orpheus' wife who also goes now by eurodyke, a divine goddess name, died. In plato'sd republic orpheus is said to have swore off women and did not want to be bored by one again, in any life.some though he had become homosexual. He ttok only young men as lovers, socrates knew he was like him platonic towards males. In fact if you recall the earlier analysis we have done, he represented teh male part of teh cult. Thus he was in charge of educating, which plato calls in Alcibeadis ! the love of a teacher to platonically love a student to educate them. So as socrates told alcibiadis he did not love him in a sexual way but loved him as a teacher loves a student and this was agapi between teacher and student. Orpheus was renowned for introducing a non sexual love between men to ancient thrace. Prior to his period debates about love and sex occured but it was deamed that only couples having sex truly love and orpheus being straight introduced a love between men that did not necessiate sex between them, Socrates and plato used these lessons to help found what we call platonic agapi amongst men and even omen , this was teh platonic addition, taht men and women can love each otehr platonically without having to have sex with each other, this foostered in the christ religions later as love even your enemy, turn the cheek and if they try to strike again god destyroys them. Ok till next week. Yes my internet does workl at hom,e though I am using a cafe site. Why cause it takes 4 hours to upload a page, many returned to cable, as the war continues and it is overloaded, but yes it works, we are working to fix it so it can be used. all good. recall according to teh law it should be free.
